Andy Lee

Andy Lee is one of Australia’s most loved stars of radio, television and podcasting, best known for working in collaboration with Hamish Blake as the nationally adored comedy duo Hamish and Andy. Together for LiSTNR, they host the country’s No. 1 Australian podcast.

Andy’s radio, television and podcast career has developed very much in tandem with his performing partner and close friend Hamish Blake. After meeting at university and commencing their careers on radio over two decades ago, Hamish and Andy rose to unparalleled success, becoming the highest rating radio programme in Australian history, reaching around 2.5 million listeners each week.

Andy is an iconic entertainer in his own right, starring as host of the Nine Network’s Logie nominated The Hundred, a show recruiting Australia’s best comedians to unpack statistics and find out what the nation is really thinking. Each year he delights Australian Open players and fans alike with his popular special edition of The Hundred featuring the AO players. In recognition of these accomplishments, Andy was nominated in 2024 for the Gold Logie Award for Most Popular Personality on Australian Television.

During the 2024 Paris Olympics, Andy took on the moniker of ‘Comparison Man’, developing a 7-part series in which he attempted a series of Olympic sports, proving just how impressive athletes really are. Andy has hosted the Australian season of ‘The Cube’ for Network 10 and featured as the Gen Y Team Captain on Shaun Micallef’s revamped iteration of “Talkin’ ‘Bout Your Generation” for Nine.

In 2011 Hamish and Andy turned their collective attention to TV, entertaining television audiences with a stream of successful seasons of their global ‘Gap Year’ expeditions, airing on the Nine Network. The show featured the boys’ escapades in New York, the UK, Asia, South America, India, New Zealand and Europe, earning multiple Silver Logies.

As well as their acclaimed careers as stars of radio and TV, Hamish and Andy held comedic reign with their radio-show podcasts, consistently sitting at #1 on the iTunes charts. In 2008 Hamish and Andy released their ‘Unessential Listening’ CD which went platinum, selling well over 100,000 copies. In 2010 they released a second CD to great acclaim, ‘Celebrating Over 50 Glorious Years’.

In 2015, Hamish and Andy made their highly anticipated return to the HIT Radio network, once again hosting their top rating weekday national Drive show. After a fabulous farewell to radio tour at the end of 2017, they moved to podcasting, launching their own top rating show for the LiSTNR network in 2018.

2017 saw a sensational development TV wise, as they returned to the Nine Network with the debut of the AACTA and Logie nominated ‘True Story with Hamish and Andy’ and continued its success with Season Two in 2018. To the delight of their fans, Hamish and Andy paired up for the Nine Network again the next year, setting off on an action-packed adventure with a twist in the debut season of “Hamish and Andy’s ‘Perfect’ Holiday”!

Throughout his career, Andy Lee has made welcome guest appearances on shows such as The Project, Spicks and Specks, Have You Been Paying Attention, The Front Bar, Rove, Thank God You’re Here and Kinne. Internationally he has featured on the British version of The Graham Norton Show and The Jay Leno Show in the States.

Film wise, Andy starred in the widely acclaimed short film, Your Call Is Important To Us, securing a nomination for ‘Best Performance’ in the Stellar Short Film Festival.

In addition to his many roles in the media, Andy is also a celebrated children’s author and has a globally best-selling series, “Do Not Open This Book”. Most recently, Andy’s brand new kids animation series based on his books, Do Not Watch This Show was released on the ABC to the delight of children around the country.  The series features voices of Australian icons, including Joel Creasey, Denise Scott and Dave Hughes.
