Byron Cooke

Byron Cooke is the anchor of Triple M Sydney’s breakfast show ‘The Grill Team.’ And is the host of Radar Radio, Triple M’s new Sunday night music show that can be heard nationally on the Triple M network.

For the past 10 years Cooke has been working in radio as a presenter and producer, here and abroad. He was the co-host the highly successful ‘Shebang’ national drive time show alongside Fifi Box and Marty Sheargold, rated "the most listened to radio show in Australia" based on AC Nielsen survey results in 2005. Before the Shebang, Byron worked on-air at world famous alternative radio station XFM in London England.

Cooke is a media juggernaut and has been known to host up to eight radio shows for different networks all at the same time, as well as presenting a Californian breakfast show from a studio in Australia. He also successfully launched his own original commercial radio format in 2006 with the 103.9 Revolution [KMBY-FM] in the Monterey-Salinas-Santa Cruz market.

Byron is a seasoned interviewer and has interviewed hundreds of celebrities and music greats, he is Triple M’s ‘Music Guy’ and has his own National music Show, Radar Radio. Recently Byron’s interview with Adam Lambert caused an International sensation in the twittersphere. 

Some career highlights have been face-to-face interviews with U2, Green Day, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Coldplay, Pearl Jam and Fall Out Boy. From his Los Angeles base Byron also presented ‘Movies that Rock’ for the Triple M Network. He went one-on-one with the biggest names in film including Johnny Depp, George Clooney, Jennifer Aniston, Orlando Bloom, Steve Carell, Anne Hathaway, Chris Tucker and Harrison Ford.

Byron is just as crazy about sport. In 2009 he joined the Sydney Swans Football Club as the teams On Ground MC for every Sydney home game making him a perfect fit as anchor of Triple M’s breakfast radio show ‘The Grill Team.’

Currently Byron appears as a regular panellist on the television show ‘The Playlist’ hosted by Andrew Mercado, airing on Showtime. He has proved himself as a great TV panellist with incisive and witty commentary and a good knowledge of pop culture and all things TV. In 2010, Byron joined a host of celebrities and industry experts to give his point of view on the Channel 9 hit ‘20 to 1’.
